With a new baby on the way, the client needed to renovate the kitchen, bathroom and laundry, to better cater for their growing family needs.
For the kitchen, they wanted to make it more open, enabling better visibility and access to the lounge area. The bathrooms and laundry needed a fresh look at to ensure they had the best use of space. We had 8 weeks to complete the work, before the baby’s due date. The apartment was located on the 5th floor of the building and had poor access.

The client engaged a designer, whom we worked closely with on the specifications.
For the kitchen although they wanted to remove the wall, we knew this would mean a loss of valuable storage space. So rather than simply removing the wall, we worked to develop a solution that included a large window (to create the visibility) and a breakfast bar to maximise the opportunity for cupboard space. In addition to the new cabinetry and layout, the veneer flooring was removed and replaced with tiles.
Both bathrooms were delivered to the designer specifications, and the end result was modern, fresh and with the perception of space. A new window in the ensuite enabled more natural light to flow into the area, and underfloor heating was added. The original laundry had a hot water cylinder in the corner which we bought under the bench to make more room.
